Sunny Weekend Camping in Dorset

After arriving in to Luton from Budapest at the crack of dawn on Friday morning (a few weeks ago now) our thoughts immediately turned to our next adventure and I'm not talking about my impending trip to Ibiza. Nath and I had booked to go camping in Dorset for the rest of the weekend.

However our previous tent was a shambles and we were not prepared so we popped home: packed all our essentials (leftover food, glasses, plates, duvet, blow up mattress and clothes) and headed straight for Argos.

Due to it being the middle of the day we cruised through to our campsite and we had warm balmy weather to compliment. We were totally wiped after a very early start so we treated ourself to a lengthy afternoon nap before heading to Lidl to get dinner for the evening.

We got outselves a disposable BBQ and some pork skewers and corn on the cob yumm and a lovely bottle of plonk! Post dinner we obviously has some pudding, what better to have than s'mores - never had them always wanted them. Don't know what s'mores are? Chocolate digestives with melted marshmallows, but we took it to the next level and got caramel chocolate digestives - safe to say I wasn't disappointed.

We woke up feeling almost fully refreshed and we were treated to a slightly overcast day. So we had a blueberry muffin for breakfast and headed off early on our bikes to make our way down to the beach. It got hotter and sunnier as the day warmed up and we definitely weren't prepared as we had no sun cream. After getting our sweat on we arrived at the beach finally and the weather was incredible.

Look at this view - this is exactly what people forget about England, we do have good weather occasionally.

After a full day in the sun, Nath and I felt completely frazzled and in need of a cool down, luckily the sun went behind some clouds for a while for our cycle home.

We felt a bit like we were back in Western Australia and cycling to work... One day...

We got back quite late in the end and spent lots of time faffing (looking for dream holidays) before we eventually lit our BBQ so we had to cook in the dark. We had pork cutlets and sausages with garlic bread and a Caesar salad as well as another after dinner treat of s'mores.

We were hoping to wake up to some cloud to give us a rest from the sun and we were lucky-ish. We headed to Sandbanks Beach to ogle beautiful houses and enjoy some final beach time.

We had a great morning but wanted to make sure we got home earlyish to get organised before the week ahead.

Safe to say we had an amazing week and it was nice to do something different and do 2 different holidays into 1.

Xoxo
