Curtis Powley Wedding // September 2016

The wedding of the year was finally here, after a super romantic sunset proposal at Whitsand Bay, followed by a year of planning, a stag do in Dublin, a hen do in Madrid, multiple dress fittings and one final Bridesmaid night in matching Pajamas.

Wenna and I drove down to Penzance in Cornwall on Wednesday night and traffic was horrendous so we only arrived at Wenna's family home at 1am (Trendrennen Farm). After a good night's sleep we had a day of working from home ahead of us and we made use of our lunch break by getting some fresh air at the farm.

Thursday evening was the Rehearsal, it took us 2 hours to drive from deep dark Penzance to Charlestown so we were late but still managed to get in a quick practice walking down the aisle. It was surprisingly terrifying despite being only a rehearsal.

Afterwards the wedding party headed to a nearby local pub, The Rashleigh Arms.

We had a few drinks before heading down the beach to the beach to Sam's on the Beach in Fowey. A super small, cute restaurant right on the beach where Wenna and I shared a huge bowl of fresh mussels to start before having a massive goats cheese salad. Before a long, sleepy drive back to Penzance.

Friday Wenna and I had a half day working from home before heading up to the wedding venue to help with last minute preparations. We were in awe, it was so perfect and beautiful and we were so excited for the day to be here.

That evening we went to Charlie's Boathouse where all the wedding guests were invited for dinner and drinks. Our old roommate at uni and one of our best friend's Debbie arrived from Ghana where she is currently living and we hadn't seen her for coming up to 2 years and it was such a special moment.

Finally it was Saturday, the big day had arrived. Mel, Wenna and I made our way to Harriet's parents house which was beautifully decorated with love hearts and pretty balloons everywhere AND the sun was shining.

Harriet's Mum and Dad spoilt us rotten with an amazing breakfast spread with pastries, fruit, meats and cheeses and hot drinks!

We then did presents, we gave Harriet a scrapbook we had been working on since the Hen Party and which all the girls had been involved in and she loved it.

Harriet had then treated us to a present too, it was turning into a weekend of lovely surprises. We had a lovely thank you card and a little bridesmaid bag with a pair of beautiful pearl earrings to wear on the day, a Benefit lipgloss and a bag of tissues for the happy tears.

We then all made our way into St Austell to get our hair done. We had curls and twists and lots of gypsophillia. Stunning!

We had a strict schedule so once our hair was done we made our way back to the house for our make up session with Clarins which was very natural and pretty!

And finally it was time to put the final piece on the jigsaw - our dresses in frosted fig and here you go the final product.

Then our beautiful bride Harriet arrived...

And we were set to go in our surprise ride to the church and one of my favourite vehicles a VW campervan.

But before we had to go I had Bridesmaid duties to attend to, Henry responsibilities. This is a big moment for me being not the biggest dog fan.

We arrived at the church and the sun was still shining but there was a cool breeze. It didn't matter I was still sweating with nerves to walk down the aisle. That was me, so can you imagine how Harriet was feeling!

It was a beautiful ceremony and we sung the best hymns: Shine Jesus Shine being a great crowd-pleaser. Then it was time for confetti and to come out and see everyone properly.

But we did manage to get a few photos outside the church first.

Tom and Harriet had organised everything done to a T, and we had coaches waiting to take us to the beach. It was beautiful, I mean can I use this word much more in this post. Apologies but I will probably continue to use it.

We arrived at a small beach for a drink' reception accompanied by a steel band.

We also got the chance to kick off our shoes and get some beach pictures.

The bouquet.

After quenching our thirst and enjoying the beach and the band, we headed up the path towards the castle and the marquee. Here come the wedding party.

How cool does it all look?

With all pictures done, it was time to find our seats and enjoy dinner and get ready for speeches and dancing.

The cake.

I think I may have overdone it with the photos which is why it's probably taken me so long to finally publish this blog post. But hey ho there you go.

Hope you've enjoyed it! It was one of my favourite days ever.
