A night's getaway to Brighton

*Please note this was written in November but only just getting round to posting it*

The last few month's have been stressful, hectic and quite crazy to say the least, so the idea of getting away for the evening seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. And what better way of clearing the head than a weekend by the seaside, so Brighton was our location of choice.

I found the most incredible place on my go-to app AirBnb, however with work and other shenanigans on the brain I ended up booking Friday night instead of Saturday, but we went ahead anyway. We arrived in Brighton around 9pm, parked up, grabbed an Uber and headed to a last minute restaurant booking. A well-recommended Indian restaurant, Chilli Pickle. Despite the pickles for the poppadoms not being to our usual taste, we enjoyed the meal along with a lovely bottle of red.

We only got back to Number 34 gone midnight, totally stuffed and ready for bed. The room we stayed in, known as The Copper Room was beautiful, in fact the entire house was. We'd really recommend you take a look and see for yourselves and book it immediately.

After a bit of a lie in, we explored the house a little before heading to the kitchen for breakfast which consisted of coffee, a few cookies and crumpets and fresh bread with Seb's (the owner) homemade jam. Delicious!!!

We wrapped up warm and headed out, walking through the Open Market in the sunshine and headed appropriately to Sunbird's as recommended by Peter (Air Bnb host) for a hot drink.

Such a beautiful start to the day but we could see the clouds looming overhead. We made our way to the North end of the famous Lanes, with the aim of just pondering and popping into a few shops here and there. However unfortunately for poor Nath I got way too over-excited with all the cute little independent shops, pop-ups and antiques. Safe to say I was in my element. The first shop was 'Posh Totty' we stayed in here forever, they had so much beautiful jewellery pretty much all of which you could personalise. Anyway I definitely picked out my Christmas present here - make sure you look at their website (click here to view).

After browsing lots of shops, we finally made it to the end of the Lanes and were by the beach, but those looming clouds decided they had had enough and the rain started to come down, but not before we took a couple of photos.

By this point we were hungry and now pretty soaked to we quickly escaped into a recommended restaurant for lunch - English's ! It was amazing and had a great lunchtime deal on.

After we finished up at lunch, the rain still hasn't stopped and it was getting dark so we made our way home! An amazing and super short trip but just what we needed.

xoxo
